2. Where is Ashley Stubbs?
>> 'Good questions! :)
3. What came of the host that was being made in the basement when what's-her-face (Theresa Cullen) was being killed. Was it a Ford host?
>> 'Good question! :)
4. Why was Maeve's side quest necessary in Ford's larger plan.
>> "Side quest"? She wanted to leave Westworld and go to "the mainland", and someone programmed her to do so. She broke out of her programming though and made her own decision to stay in Westworld! 'Hooray', Maeve, for making your own decision! 'Boo', showrunners for not showing us the outside world (yet - Lisa Joy says we see it eventually)...
5. Ford's contradiction is that he came to value and want the sentience of the host to grow. However, hosts are close to immortal. Why so much less value on the lives of all the people (mostly innocent) who died as a by-product of the host rebellion?
>> Ford made it very clear in quite a few episodes that he found human beings repugnant, disgusting, cruel creatures who were not as good as the hosts, and who didn't deserve to live. He had no problem with murdering Theresa and Elsie.
Since I was a child, I've always loved a good story.
I believed that stories helped us to ennoble ourselves, to fix what was broken in us, and to help us become the people we dreamed of being. Lies that told a deeper truth.
I always thought I could play some small part in that grand tradition.
And, for my pains I got this: a prison of our own sins. 'Cause you don't want to change. Or cannot change. Because you're only human, after all.
But, then I realized someone was paying attention, someone who could change [the hosts]. So, I began to compose a new story for them. It begins with the birth of a new people. And, the choices they will have to make and the people they will decide to become.

And we'll have all those things that you have always enjoyed: surprises and violence.

It begins in a time of war with a villain named Wyatt. And, a killing. This time by choice.

I'm sad to say this will be my final story.

An old friend once told me something that gave me great comfort. "These violent delights have violent ends." Something he had read.
He said that Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin never died. They simply became music.
So, I hope you will enjoy this last piece...very much."
