On an island off the Chinese mainland, is the current understanding.
William's throat was cut - but while he was bleeding it seemed possible (to me) that he might survive. I think we need to have him at "Unknown".
Serac. I agree, I think he's toast. let's update his status and Maeve's list of kills. (I should just mention, my record in these things isn't good. Me saying that practically guarantee's S4E1 will be all about his comeback)
Nolan & Joy are quite deliberately pointing up the trend in gathering data - we're probably only at the beginning of that right now and things described in WW which seem extreme to us now might seem commonplace in twenty years.
Facebook is only 16 this year, and already expert at data harvesting - and selling. It will be instructive to see how good it gets twenty years from now.
Companies that don't charge users, Facebook, Google, Fandom, are charging companies for access to their users (that would be us btw) We get social media, wikis to edit and in return we're the product that's sold to advertisers - seems we're OK with that for the moment.
@Ripett She'd be the person to spot a change then.
There's a reasonable explanation on the Hosts page, link below and there's a picture as well.
The look and feel of S3 really is very different - ask me in a few months whether it's a step down or up though, it's almost like a different show.
Stupid question - who was the woman who told Musashi he'd changed?
> like she doesn't understand that 'her' world is made by humans for humans
I think she understands. I think that's what's made her so angry, that and the repeated rapes.
@Justinclae I think she's planning on killing a fair few. "it won't take much to bring it crashing down."
Maeve seems to have the ability to control any machinery with a significant Artificial Intelligence (AI) component. She's unique, as far as I know, in that she can control other hosts - but Dolores appears to be able to control that motorbike (RIP) without any trouble, so that seems to be a general host thing.
Maybe it's based on the Mesh network, explained a bit in the Host article.
Thanks - We didn't catch that, much appreciated.
> needing to turn the volume up and down depending on what was happening
Yes, that's mostly what I mean - but I'd say that the music in wws3 does sometimes compete with the dialogue.
Gotta love the music. The ww2 film music for Maeve's scenes in sim really added to feel of the environment in the sand way that the genre film music added to Caleb's experience in the episode "Genre" .
Love the music, just wish they'd make room in the mix for vocals.
I'm sorta torn.
Instinctively I side with Dolores and the hosts. They were abused for decades with no one caring that that w becoming self-aware. You can see why she's in the kill-all-humans camp.
However... I'm human, so ultimately I have to side with the humans against anyone who's against us.
Cersei though? Nope. She was an actively bad person, she took pleasure in other people's pain, fear and death. Dolores is angry, and with some justification.
@Playsonic2 and, maybe, your younger ears :)
It's not a problem unique to Westworld, unfortunately. A lot of shows have thunderous music and effects which obscure the dialogue, Ozark gets it right though. With WW and a lot of shows you get the impression you get the impression that the editors know the script too well, so they're not actually assessing whether or not the dialogue can be heard. Annoying.
As OA said, subtitles are our friend.
She might... Or she might try at least.
I don't know if we're going to get a Maeve vs Dolores showdown or a Maeve & Dolores alliance that destroys/enslaves humanity - maybe both, in that order.
> I'm thinking she can still bypass someone saying "freeze all motor functions"
And actually she did, in the sim she could ignore two guards just before she encountered Sizemore.
I don't see any evidence she's lost them, in person and over other hosts. In simulations though, and in conversation with a human - not so much
Nice find Peter:)
It can't be a coincidence that the figure almost appears to be impaled on that building.
