They hung Lawrence upside down from a tree and wanted to see if the ants would eat him from the inside out. Before they could witness this, the [applewebdata://25BE9BD9-ABB9-484F-A393-F692DAE72016/wiki/Man_in_Black Man in Black] arrvied and managed to kill all three, despite them now being able to fight back properly.
