The human-host hybrids is a developing technology being tested in Westworld.
The hybrid project was started by James Delos - founder of Delos Inc., and William - majority shareholder of Delos Inc., in an attempt to cheat death.
The hybrid project consists of imprinting a developed human mind onto a control unit, then inserting the control unit into a host body. The project's initial testing lasted 30 years, during which time it was determined that an imprinted human mind was only able to function for a short period of time in a host body once it was made aware of it's unique circumstance (Record: 35 days). Symptoms of degradation included uncontrollable twitches, speech impediments and violent outbursts. The first known test subject, James Delos, was tested and rebuilt 149 times, being incinerated in between each session, before his testing was terminated.
One way to distinguish hybrids from hosts is the color of their control units; hosts have black control units and hybrids have red ones.
