"Parce Domine"

Maeve wakes up in a house and discovers that she's wearing 1940s clothing and holding a revolver. She hears someone and goes into the next room, and finds a bloody man tied to a chair. He speaks German, and Maeve goes to the window and realizes that she's in an Italian village occupied by Nazis.

"The Winter Line"

Maeve takes in the situation she now finds herself in, but is utterly confused. She hears someone entering the room and takes cover, but quickly realizes that this is Hector Escaton. He tells her that he has found a way out and the two try to escape but are surrounded by Nazi soldiers. Maeve tries to control them, but finds she has lost her ability to control other hosts. Hector refers to Maeve as "Isabella" and she realizes that this is just another narrative and Hector cannot remember her. Hector is killed in a shoot-out shortly after and in a spout of grief, Maeve commits suicide.

Maeve finds herself on the tech table for repair and, upon awakening, she scouts around the lab with a weapon. When she notices Hector's dead body on a pile of other bodies, she decides to take her life permanently. She is shocked when she is interrupted by Lee Sizemore, who she believed to have been killed by Delos QA. He tells her that he can give her a chance to find her daughter again given Warworld is close to the Forge. She is ecstatic and accepts his proposal.

Back inside Warworld, Maeve meets up with Lee, who takes her to the Forge. When Maeve questions how she activates the control unit, Lee remarks that it is the same as before. Maeve quickly becomes confused given she has never been to the Forge, and this causes Lee to question who initiated the transfer of the Valley Beyond. It becomes clear to Maeve that the reality around her is false and she is stuck within a simulation; even Lee is unaware that he is not real. When she begins to explain the reality around them, Lee becomes confused and unable to coherently talk — clear signs that the AI is breaking down.

Later, returning to Delos' labs, Maeve pushes the simulation to its limits. She asks two techs for the square root of -1 and when they're discussing, she throws a statue onto the floor; the statue freezes mid-air, however. When Lee questions what happened, Maeve explains that the simulation only has limited computing power, which it had devoted to figuring out the complex maths problem. Maeve is later able to break from the confinement's of the simulation and finds herself at Serac's home.

"The Mother of Exiles"

Serac brings Maeve back online and tasks her with finding Dolores. He interrogates someone who helped Dolores escape, and finds a potential lead that Maeve can explore. Maeve questions why she would help Serac, and not join Dolores when she finds her; Serac explains that they built an off-switch into her head, so it is in her best interest to help them.

Maeve finds a potential lead on the Mortician, and finds herself outside of a club. The men are reluctant to appease Maeve, but she quickly shows them that she is in control by attacking them. The Mortician tries to call for help, but Maeve scrambles her mic before she can. Threatening the Mortician, she reveals that she helped Dolores, but sent her to the Yakuza so cannot help her anymore.

Maeve forces the Mortician to take her to find the Yakuza, and when they arrive, a fight ensues. Maeve takes out all of the Yakuza's men, but is surprised to find the Yakuza is a host version of Musashi. Maeve and Musashi talk, and it is eventually revealed that the hosts are alternate versions of Dolores Abernathy. Musashi stabs Maeve through the stomach before she can track Dolores' location.

"Decoherence"

Maeve is placed back into the Warworld simulation whilst her body is reprinted. She finds Lee Sizemore and the two drink at a local bar, before they are approached by "Ettore". Maeve realises that with her new found abilities — and the fact that she can see Hector's control unit — she can end Ettor's narrative and bring Hector back; she successfully does this.

Maeve fights and kills the German soldiers - Sizemore watches from the edge of the square, she is surrounded by bodies now. He suggests a drink and takes her to a bar. He has programmed the simulation so that the staff don't see him. She tells him about her physical death and having to wait for a new body, and then sees the scene shift around her. Meave, Hector and Lee - in a sim of a Remote Diagnostic Facility, a copy of Dolores is sitting there nude, inactive. Maeve wakes her up and she recognises Maeve.

Maeve talking to Dolores, says that Dolores has too much power - Dolores points out that Maeve can control hosts with her mind. She knows that Serac is destroying as many hosts as he can.

Dolores criticises Maeve for not trying for anyone not close to her - and for expecting Dolores to be perfect.
