  • Hello Luke,

Thought you were finished, nice to see you on the wiki.

How are you getting on with uni assessments etc? I have an open book Stats exam on friday :( but I think that's the only actual exam.

      Loading editor
    • Hey Reggie,

I'm more or less finished. Looking around and trying to tie up anything that I may have missed or that could use a little more improvement before the project is closed; we're evaluating our work here, so I want to ensure I've covered S3 as much as possible before the report is done.

I've actually found them to have been relatively easy at this point — although I haven't attempted many of them. The essays we had have been reduced to "reflections" on what we studied, so it's personal opinion over anything; makes it a little bit easier.

I do have an open book exam too, but it's more of "have this paper and return it in 2 days", so I'm pretty much just going to have the slides open depending on the questions.

Hope your exam goes well on Friday, I was never too good at stats, but really enjoyed maths. Do you feel prepared? I guess we're in a better position than doing it as an actual "exam" if you get what I mean.

    • Your work here on S3 has been more than impressive. I've not always agreed with your advice but you've really churned through the work - thank you. Welcome back anytime.

Your uni experience that sounds somewhat similar to mine - mostly essays that is, except they've made it clear that lots of time means they expect a higher standard. Internal and external insect anatomy, 3,500 words, at least five diagrams. Ok then :) It suits me actually - aspies R us...

  • Hi Luke,

I've been looking at the analytics page - esp at the mix between mobile and desktop views.

    • There are way more mobile than desktop views, and I've paid very little attention to the mobile version
    • Who can I talk to about the best way to organise the mobile view?

    Reggie

P.S. Hope your assessments/exams are going well.

      Loading editor
    • Hey Reggie,

It's a common thing to see more views on mobile than desktop these days — I'm glad you're concerned about the mobile experience, most admins just disregard this.

Who you talk to depends on what exactly you want to organise, if it's say, the way templates look, or anything like that in mobile, then I'd say your best point of contact is TimeShade. If it's anything beyond that, Antonio, this wikis Community Manager would be the best point if contact :)

Exams revision is going well at the minute — the majority of mine have now been made open book due to this whole situation; I'm not complaining.

      Hope yours are too!

  • Hi Luke,

Am I going a bit mad? Have the achievements disappeared?

      Loading editor
    • Hmm, odd behaviour. I can't see them either — the Leaderboard is still enabled, so in theory, they've not been turned off.

I've alerted Staff that something weird is going on here, will report back when they've investigated.

        Loading editor
    • Thx Luke

        Loading editor
    • Just checked with Staff and it seems to still be enabled — I checked on another account, and can still see the achievements. Have you turned off the achievements module in your preferences, or something similar?

      Check

Check that this is still unchecked.

If you check your preferences and that is still unchecked, and you can't see the achievements module on your profile, let me know and I'll file a bug report.

        Loading editor
    • Ok - I can see them on other accounts again now. Not sure what happened there, if anything, but thank you.

  • Hi Luke,

    Hope you're well.

I remember we discussed what to do about human characters who are then impersonated by Hosts, William, Emily, Hale and Connells for instance, and no doubt others as we go on.

You made the suggestion, which I agreed with, that information from the (host) articles should be merged into the human articles and the (host) articles then deleted.

I noticed that the Martin Connells (host) article was still there, so I checked that the information was on the human page and deleted it. No problem.

I'm not sure how to proceed with Charlotte Hale's page without perhaps interfering with what you're doing. I can see some SpeedyBot and OA work, as you'd expect, but it doesn't appear to be complete - seem to be two Plot sections and I'm not sure what the plan is.

My inclination is to carry on with the plan we agreed; does that interfere with the work you've planned?

Drop me an email if you'd prefer. You need my address?

    • Hey, everything is good. Hope everything is well with you.

Hale's page is a bit of an enigma given she's a heavily featured character; we need to think about balancing those who are visiting the article to learn about Hale, or those that are visiting to learn about Dolores/Hale.

Initially, I thought that it would be a good idea to have a separate section below Hale's plot summaries with Dolores' actions in, and I styled it this way. With Connells, it seemed better to integrate it into the original Connells' plot section.

It's up to you how you'd like it to be formatted; either is good from an SEO standpoint, and we can either keep the tabbers with episode summaries below the "Host Hale" header, or we can integrate the plot summaries into the "real Hale's" summaries, and just have a little bit of a biography under the "Host Hale" header. Or, if you have any other suggestions, let me know, there's certainly probably going to be more of these host situations I imagine so a good format will help a lot going forward.

If you'd prefer to have this conversation over email — I know email notifications are easier and more convenient — then feel free to drop me an email at lrigby@fandom.com :)

  • hi, I have added Richard Wagner as music entry to S03E05, I was wondering if it is better to use the original title of the piece (german in this case) or the english title?

      Loading editor
    • Hey, it's probably okay to use the original version, or putting the German and the English version simultaneously would also be nice, such as:

      • German Title/English Title — Artist.

    • thanks, i changed it to use both titles

  • Hi there,

I thought it'd be better to style Westworld wiki a lil bit like the one about The Walking Dead, since they're both full of deaths and also separate paragraphs about deaths give wider understanding of character's demise, but you moved that info on the Mortician's page into Trivia, I'm cool with that but since I started to add these paragraphs to the rest of deceased characters could you bring that paragraph back? Thanks :P

P.S. We should also start adding "Killed Victims" paragraphs to chars who have killed other ppl

      Loading editor
    • Howdy!

I changed the edit because the "Edit" section was not part of the formatting for non-Hosts in the wiki policies. I believe a change in format should be run past the current admin. I've no problem with the section if he hasn't, however.

As for the "killed victims" sections, that's also something you should run past the current admin.

I got the permission, the admin likes it, so I'm bringing my change back :P

  • Hi Luke,

Just seen your addition to the Drip page.

Are you sure you have this the right way around? My understanding is this :

    • Drip: a permanent implant in the roof of the mouth that interprets signals from tabs the person puts into their mouth from time to time. Caleb is described as having a military grade drip, whilst the man was looking in his mouth.
    • Tab:a device resembling a communion wafer but with obvious circuitry in it. The user places one in the roof of the mouth and it communicates with the already installed grid, changing the use's mood as required.

    Nice addition though, thank you.

      Loading editor
    • Ah, my mistake. I didn't realise that they had named the actual implant; that makes more sense, actually.

Are you opposed to having details about the tabs on the article, or would you want those on their own article? I can amend my addition shortly for either scenario :)

        Loading editor
    • Hi, I think it's a good place for all of the relevant information about the mood control system for the moment. We'll see how it develops, it might become very significant or not get mentioned much... (though that seems unlikely)

It you agree I'd like to let the page grow for a bit and review later on.

  • Hi Luke, hope you're well.

I notice you're a student as well - revising for exams in May now?

Last season Fandom provided the current background graphic, with the horse-riding man on the left and vulture on the right.

Would it be possible for Fandom to help out again with something based on the Season 3 key art? Maybe something based on this? It's a higher resolution version of the image from WarnerMedia pressroom.

    • To me it looks like it has just been stuck in the middle of the article. I'd personally put it in a separate header under "Gallery", but if you like it there then that is fine :)

Also, what did you think about Charlotte's page? I can get the others finished before tonight's episode if you agree :)

  • Hello Luke, I still don't have an episode picture for The Absence of Field - are you able to find one?

  • Excuse me - please do *not* make Admin level changes without discussion.

      Loading editor
    • Apologies. I'm not sure why you're linking to /f in two sub-menus when there is a discussion link in the header already to the right which gets far more traffic? Using two menu items for the same link is really ineffective.

        Loading editor
    • That's not the point.

Your help is *very* welcome - but please do not make admin level changes without discussion.
