Pause Mode is a state which hosts enter and leave on command. While in Character Mode, hosts seem unaware (or only vaguely aware) of what has happened while in Pause Mode.

Usage[]

This mode is used by staff to force hosts to immediately cease any and all actions, including even the slightest movements. The commonly heard voice command that activates this mode in hosts is "Freeze all motor functions." or "Cease all motor functions.".

One of the command's purposes seems to be defensive in nature, as armed security staff are heard yelling these commands at rebelling and violently behaving hosts, among others. Another frequent voice command used for Pause Mode is "That's enough.".

Characteristics[]

While in Pause Mode, hosts appear entirely motionless, even while standing in uncomfortable postures. They make no apparent muscle movement and do not communicate verbally or physically until released from the mode with another voice command. Unlike in Analysis Mode, the hosts provide no feedback while placed into Pause Mode.
