Where the Mountains Meet the Sea, also known as Initial Beach, is a seashore in Westworld. It is located near Escalante and the Delos Extraction Team's landing site.
Season One[]
"The Stray"[]
"Where the Mountains Meet the Sea" was first mentioned by Teddy as the place he thought of when Dolores asked him if there wasn't somewhere they could go to start their lives together. Teddy describing it, as place to start over, and promising Dolores to take her there someday.
"Trompe L'Oeil"[]

The drawing transpires to be a memory of her route back to Escalante. As Teddy describes 'where the mountains meet the sea' as a place where you can wash the past right off you and start clean...something that could be done to hosts in the RDF beta testing site in Escalante.
"The Bicameral Mind"[]
After Dolores was stabbed by the Man in Black, she prevails upon Teddy to take her to where he promised 'Where the Mountains Meet the Sea' . Teddy taking her to the beach, where they carried out a scripted dialogue, based in truth, as Act 1 of Ford's new narrative - Journey Into Night - to the Delos Board.
Season Two[]

Bernard was found lying on the beach by PMCs from the Delos Extraction Team and Ashley Stubbs.
"The Passenger"[]

Trivia[]
One possible reason for the use of the term 'Where the Mountains Meet the Sea" may come from Topanga Canyon just outside L.A. The word 'Topanga' itself meaning 'where the mountains meet the sea' in the Native American Tongva tribe's tongue. The canyon itself became a focal point for those seeking 'to get away' and change/experiment from life in Los Angeles. During the 1960s/70s's especially it attracted those seeking to change their lives, and artistic minds alike "seeking a break from suburban reality". Among it's artistic (and other) residents it included The Doors, The Eagles, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, and Charles Manson.[1]
